SharpLight Laser Treatment for Vascular & Pigmented Lesions

SharpLight’s DPC™ (Dynamic Pulse Control) technology is very effective in the treatment of vascular lesions (broken capillaries, rosacea, skin redness) and pigmented lesions (sun spots, uneven skin tone and/or pigment). This treatment can be “stacked” with the laser photo treatment for more effective results.

The typical regimen is 2-3 sessions, depending on the size and severity of the area being treated. Treatments are spaced 4 weeks apart for optimal results to allow for natural healing.

• Avoid Accutane six months before treatment.
• Discontinue use of retinoic acid products two weeks to treatment.
• Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds and self-tanners for 4 to 8 weeks prior and/or between IPL treatments.
• Report all skin diseases, viruses, or infections (i.e. cold sores, eczema or allergies).
• Do not exfoliate, use Retin-A, glycolic acid, benzoyl peroxide or skin irritants one week before treatment.
• Discontinue bleaching creams 48 hours before treatment.
• Avoid microdermabrasion or chemical peels two weeks before treatment.
• If skin is red, irritated or sunburned, the treatment must be rescheduled.
• Report all medication taken within two weeks of the treatment.
• Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours prior to the treatment
• Avoid alcohol and caffeine the day before and day of treatment. -
• Avoid direct sunlight, tanning beds and self-tanners 2 to 3 weeks after a treatment
• Apply sunscreen SPF 50+ and reapply as needed throughout day.
• Consider using protective cotton gloves for driving or a hat to protect facial areas.
• If there are scabs or blisters, makeup should not be used for 3 to 5 days.
• For at least two weeks after vascular/pigmentation treatment, do not use harsh tropical exfoliants, glycolic acid, benzyl peroxide, or acne creams, etc.
• Avoid touching, rubbing, peeling or picking at the skin, as this may cause hyper/hypopigmentation, scarring or infection.
• Apply pure aloe vera gel to the treated areas twice daily until healed.
• For one week, avoid hot baths, showers, hot tubs and saunas. Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 to 48 hours following the clinical treatment.
